Baby it's cold outside!

So I enjoy crafting as a whole. I never limit myself to what I do. I enjoy pottery, sewing, and all paper crafts. I just enjoy venturing out into the craft world. It's been a while since I've posted, so I wanted to show you some of the things that I've worked on over the winter. I've even incorporated some of these things into invitations. Here you go!

Just in time

Black and yellow! Black and yellow! The Steelers have some of the most die hard fans! This simple yet fabulous invitation was made for a die hard fan. She hosted a football party full of couples at her house. This invitation started with a simple black and yellow graphic. Big words that were directionally placed made this invite. Also, the belly band incorporated subway art graphics. She loved it and so did her guest!
Go Steelers! Black and yellow! AFC North Champions!

All things Baby!

It has been a while since my last post! I have spent a lot of the summer crafting, and now that work has started, it is becoming quite difficult to squeeze anything leisure into my schedule! Nevertheless, I bring you a gift I made for a baby shower I attended. If you are like me, things have to be organized! So I thought what better way to help a mom to be organize her little man's closet than closet organizers! I gathered extra wood that was laying around and cut them all the same size. I then adhered scrap paper to the blocks. To make these closet dividers functional beyond the first year, I added chalk paint so that the parents to be could organize the closet how they wanted to. Next, I put my sewing skills to use and made a pouch for the organizers! Lastly, I made a keepsake box!  I hope you enjoy!

Parents to Bee !

With summer quickly coming to an end, I decided to update my blog to remind me of the not so warm months. I created this custom package for 2 beautiful ladies, who were throwing a shower for their friends. Here's the catch, the couple decided to not find out the gender of the baby. So what better way to celebrate than to keep it neutral with blacks, greys, whites , and yellows ?! Don't buzzzzz on by this post ! I hope you enjoy! Come One! Come All!

Today I bring you something fun! It is the perfect season for carnivals. As I type this post, I can literally taste and smell cotton candy and funnel cakes! I love summer and all the things it brings along!
This invitation was created for a carnival party that is being given to honor three little ones. When the mom first asked me to create an invitation, she had an idea of what she wanted. However, of course me being big on not creating what has already been created, I pitched her another idea. Of course, she loved it!
I created the invite to look like a ring toss game. I wanted it to be "centered around" the events and activities of their carnival party. I started with a table tent style card. I then added fun red and white and star paper to make it look like a carnival event. Individual carnival banners were added so that all their guests knew it was a carnival party. I then found a cool ring toss sign that I added to the card. All the party's information is outlined on the back of the card! Check it out! I hope you like it!

My little dancer!

I say that all the invitations that I make are my favorite, and I honestly I mean that! It's a great feeling to look at your work and enjoy it! It's also a great feeling to see your work evolve! With each invitation, I try to challenge myself and make it more creative! Today I bring you an invitation made for a dancer. She was turning thirteen and her mom threw her a surprise hotel party! In my mind, the best way to highlight the work of a dancer was to go along with the recital theme! Each of the pieces made were added to a base that was created to be a "stage". Check out the soft pink colors  and the shimmery black paper used to add a touch of elegance! Let's just say that this invitation speaks for itself.

Because I love you!

As I type this post, all the great love songs of the past began coming to mind. From Lenny Williams to Musiq Soulchild, the L-O-V-E word is a great feeling to sing about and feel! It's also a great thing to craft! The month of February has passed; however, love is always blooming, especially for the tiny newborn fingers and toes! This invitation was made for a baby shower that took place in February, and the theme was LOVE! This was the sample made for the mommy-to-be, and she immediately fell in LOVE! This invitation has such intricate details and cuts! The colors of the shower were pink and red. The pocket of the invitation had the words love cut out in various fonts. The pullout card was shaped like a heart and tulle was added to it.  I hope you fall in love with this love invite to the point that it inspires you to order from Centered Around You Creations!  I take my time to craft custom invites that not only you'll love but your guests will love! Remember: You set the tone for your party by the first form of contact, your invitation.

Lalaloopsy

Happy New Years! I know I'm extremely late, but it's been a while since I last posted! I have had the opportunity to create many beautiful things since my last post, so I've been keeping busy! This post is bringing you something "sew" special! That's right! Lalaloopsy! When I first received this request, I thought long and hard to myself, "What am I going to do?"  I had to start by watching a few episodes of the show to get an idea! From there the creative juices started flowing. I decided to create a circled shape invite, and I designed it to look like a button. I then focused on the details! This invite is adorned with buttons, needle pins, and fabric to bring it to life. I also included a pop up element to set it apart! My client and her daughter loved the invite, and so did I! I hope you do too! Remember: What's an event without your thoughts and ideas? Enjoy!

65 and Loving it!

I love stretching my mind and making new creations! Once I get an idea, I love seeing how it looks in its executed state! I must say that the way this particular invitation I made turned out left me Speechless!
The shimmery paper gave it such an elegant feel. The rhinestones added a nice touch of class. Better yet, the style of the invitation alone is enough to make this client's guest want to attend this party. It was enclosed with either a red, gold, or black bow!
I enjoyed making this invite, and I hope you like too!

Hail to Queen K!

Before venturing into the invitation business, I started out by making 3 dimensional centerpieces for friends and family members, so I was extremely excited when I received a request from a client to make a centerpiece for their upcoming birthday! Her theme was Centered Around Beyonce's Mrs. Carter Tour.
The theme itself had me excited because it was different from the rest. It also allowed me to really stretch my creativity. I started out by picking colors that the birthday party was going to be decorated with. I then researched the Mrs. Carter Tour, and what I depicted from the tour was that the focus was Royalty, i.e. queens, castles, jewels, thrones, scepters, thrones, etc. I then selected sparkly gold papers and rhinestones to embellish the piece. I hand cut the material used to make it dimensional. I then mounted all the pieces on top of a "chess" like board. To seal the deal, I made a section to hold candy. I really enjoyed making this piece. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Strike!

In baseball, strike means that you are out, but in bowling it means that you scored a homerun and knocked all the pins down! I striked out with the creation of this invitation! I never want to make what has already been made, so I went to the internet for some inspiration. What I came up with was a replica of a billboard sign. I started out by making a pocket fold invitation. I then added layers of pins, bowling balls, and letters to imitate the original billboard sign. I must say that I enjoyed how this invitation turned out, and I hope you enjoy it too!

Have a great day!
